PRO FOOTBALL — September 23

ARIZONA (+7.5) at BALTIMORE (Total 35.5) — The Arizona Cardinals intend to run the ball behind Pro Bowl rusher Edgerrin James. It’s coach Ken Whisenhunt’s philosophy. But that’s going to be a grind against a Baltimore defense that is yielding just 2.5 yards a carry. Matt Leinart, in one of his toughest road trips to date, has to find some room downfield against a decidedly unfriendly Raven secondary (hello, Ed Reed!) with two rookies starting on his offensive line. Despite the presence of a couple of wideouts with over 100 yards receiving, that’s a tall order. Steve McNair back in lineup for Baltimore (though Kyle Boller ably filled in) and Willis McGahee so far giving the team some of what they have been looking for in the backfield. Arizona, which lost its opener at San Francisco, is not a road warrior, having won just five of its last 39 as the visitor. More growing pains for Leinart.

JAY’S PLAYS – SEATTLE at ARIZONA

PRO FOOTBALL — September 16

SEATTLE (-4) at ARIZONA (Total 42.5) — Matt Leinart still may have a ways to go, but based in Edgerrin James’ performance in the opening game (92 yards on 26 carries), coach Ken Whisenhunt is going to do everything he possibly can to move the football on the ground. And despite the loss of Chike Okeafor, Arizona got through to sack Alex Smith three times in the opener, and outgained the Niners by 136 yards. Seattle got a strong outing from Shaun Alexander (105 yards against Tampa Bay), and the former NFL MVP has averaged almost 100 yards a game against Arizona, with 15 TD’s in ten games. He’s bothered by a wrist injury, though, and with special protective devices, may be prone to fumbling. Seattle’s WR corps is thinning out with injuries, and now Mike Holmgren may be regretful that he traded Darrell Jackson. Meanwhile, Leinart, who completed only one pass for more than 10 yards against San Francisco, has the capacity to go deeper, with Larry Fitzgerald and Anquan Boldin. On the technical side, Seattle was 0-4 ATS (against the spread) as a road favorite last year and is 4-8-1 ATS on grass the last two seasons.

This is the reason why the Red Birds are 1-7,not Green. If James ran for all those yards in Ind. he should be able to here. This season is lost. I hope someone realize this in the Cards brain trust and does something to correct this through free agency and the draft.Once that happens we will have a real team here in the valley.Until then it will be the same old Cards.

Keep doing what you doing for now, last place in the NFL, give you chance to get good place in draw for next year, so you can feel up hole in your team.

Still, what ever you take it, you will loose, on this team is curs, and whatever you do, you loose. Thats not my word, thats what they say in last game monday nite in the radio, if this team loose this game, someone put good curs on team.

Any way if you looking on all team record, Cardinals have worst record in NFL, why they play,to get even worst, so no one can’t bit them.

I think is better for Cardinals to change name, maybe  this can help and change they luck in Arizona. Thanks god i dont buy season ticket for them, that will be waste of many.Watch this team for past 13 years how they play give me headache, just one apperance in playoff, give me a break……and this stadium for whom….LOOSERS,

no thanks, I done with you. For real fans is only one hope that maybe 1 day NFL can  come up with trophy for the BIG LOOSER…………CONGRATULATION………..

you on the good way ARIZONA CARDINALS FOR THIS TROPHY KEEP GOING.
Any trophy is good then none…….

Very, Very Disaponted Fan………..

New offense for Cards

Blogged under Uncategorized by bigal3777 on Wednesday 18 October 2006 at 9:31 am

the firing is a good thing as the cards were playing not to lose. This is the NFL and players can smell it when you are scared. Good things have come from this loss however, The offense should become a pass first and the running game will open up bigtime. MAD MATT wanted to go down the field and score again and put the game out of reach by passing. He was on a roll and the line was able to protect. Green has had great quarterbacks before and knows how to use them.

Sorry you all have D. Green

Just a word of sympathy for you all down south.  The Cardinals were always my favorite hardluck team, but picking up Denny G as coach has been a serious problem for you.

note:  I am a Vikes fan by virtue of proximity.

His complete and utter lack of gonads in going for a TD at the end of the first half cost him the game against Chicago.

Maybe the Bidwells actually watched the game and will dump him soon in favor of a real coach.  This and the lack of attention to defense doomed the Vikes in 1998 and almost every other year of his tenure up north.

All that being said, Go Cards!  I really liked what I saw in Leinart and the rest of the team.

Cards Loss 9/24

If this game had been played in the 60′s, the league would investigate Warner for throwing the game… remember Paul Horning? It’s hard to believe that a Super Bowl winner can make such blatant “errors”….. Incredible!
