The Arizona Cardinals re-sign CB Greg Toler

The Cardinals have re-signed 27-year old CB Greg Toler to a 1-year deal.  Toler played in 14 games for the Cardinals last year and he had 90 tackles, 2 interceptions (1 returned for a TD), 9 passes defensed, 3 tackles for a loss, 1 sack, 2 forced fumbles and 1 fumble recovery.  Toler has now played in 27 games in his first two years in the NFL and he has 101 tackles, 11 passes defensed, 3 interceptions (1 returned for a TD), 3 tackles for a loss, 1 sack, 2 forced fumbles and 1 fumble recovery.

The Arizona Cardinals re-sign LB Reggie Walker

The Cardinals have re-signed 25-year old inside linebacker Reggie Walker to a 2-year deal.  Walker played in all 16 games for the Cardinals last year and he had 16 tackles.  Walker has now played in 34 games in his first 3 years with the Cardinals and he has 36 tackles, 1 fumble recovery and 2 tackles for a loss.  This was a good move for the Cardinals as Walker is a good special teams player who helps out on D when needed.

The Cardinals have signed 35-year old long snapper Mike Leach.  Leach played in 16 games (0 starts) for the Cardinals last year.  He has now played in 48 games (0 starts) in his first three years with the Cardinals.  It was smart of the Cardinals to bring back Leach for 2012 as he is very dependable.

The Arizona Cardinals sign CB William Gay

The Cardinals have signed 27-year old CB William Gay.  Gay played in all 16 games for the Steelers last year and he had 61 tackles, 3 tackles for a loss, 1 fumble recovery, 2 interceptions and 13 passes defensed.  He has now played in 80 games in his first five years in the NFL and he has 247 tackles, 3 interceptions, 43 passes defensed, 9 tackles for a loss, 3 sacks, 2 forced fumbles and 2 fumble recoveries.  Gay will replace Richard Marshall (signed with Dolphins) as one of the Cardinals’ starting corners in 2012.

The Cardinals have re-signed 35-year old kicker Jay Feely.  Feely played in all 16 games for the Cardinals last year and he connected on 19 of 24 field goals (79.2%) and he made all 33 of his extra points, good for 90 points.  He has now played in 32 games in his first two years with the Cardinals and he has made 43 of 51 (84.3%) field goals and is 62 for 62 on extra points as he has scored 191 points in his career with them.  This was a smart move for the Cardinals as Feely is still pretty accurate.

The Cardinals have re-signed 29-year old OG D’Anthony Batiste.  Batiste played in 4 games (0 starts) for the Cardinals last year and he has played in 5 games (0 starts) in his first two years with them.  Batiste has played in 22 games (4 starts) in his first six years in the NFL.  This was a good move for the Cardinals as Batiste will add depth to the O-Line in 2012.

The Cardinals have re-signed 26-year old WR Early Doucet to a 2-year deal.  Doucet played in all 16 games for the Cardinals last year and he caught 54 passes for 689 yards (12.8 avg) with 5 TD grabs.  He has now played in 42 games in his first four years with the Cardinals and he has caught 111 passes for 1,284 yards (11.6 avg) with 7 TD grabs.  This was a smart move for the Cardinals as Doucet looks like a late bloomer.

The Arizona Cardinals release G/C Rex Hadnot

The Cardinals have released 30-year old G/C Rex Hadnot.  Hadnot played in 16 games (all starts) for the Cardinals last year.  He played in 27 games (17 starts) in his two years with the Cardinals.  The Cardinals will be looking for a new guard to replace Hadnot in 2012, but they can do better.

The Arizona Cardinals release WR Chansi Stuckey

The Cardinals have released 28-year old WR Chansi Stuckey.  Stuckey played in 9 games for the Cardinals last year and he caught 4 passes for 39 yards (9.8 avg).  Stuckey has now played in 55 games in his first five years in the NFL and he has caught 106 passes for 1,062 yards (10.0 avg) with 5 TD grabs so far in his career.  The Cardinals won’t miss Stuckey too much.

The Arizona Cardinals sign OT Adam Snyder

The Cardinals have signed 30-year old OT Adam Snyder to a 5-year deal.  Snyder played in 16 games (13 starts) for the 49ers last year.  He has now played in 107 games (69 starts) in his first seven years in the NFL.  This was an outstanding signing for the Cardinals as it helps them while hurting the division rival 49ers at the same time.
