The Arizona Cardinals lose CB Greg Toler for the season

Blogged under Big Cards News,Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Injury Reports by admin on Monday 29 August 2011 at 5:53 pm

The Arizona Cardinals have lost 26-year old cornerback Greg Toler for the season due to a torn ACL.  He played in 14 games for the Cardinals last year and he had 90 tackles, 9 passes defensed, 2 interceptions (1 returned for a TD), 2 forced fumbles, 1 fumble recovery, 1 sack and 3 tackles for a loss.  He has played in 27 games in his first two years in the NFL and he has 101 tackles, 11 passes defensed, 3 interceptions (1 returned for a TD), 1 sack, 2 forced fumbles, 1 fumble recovery and 3 tackles for a loss.  The Cardinals are going to miss Toler as he really stepped up last season for them.

The Arizona Cardinals lose rookie RB Ryan Williams for the season

Blogged under Big Cards News,Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Injury Reports,The Draft Report by admin on Monday 22 August 2011 at 3:37 pm

The Cardinals will be without rookie RB Ryan Williams for the rest of the 2011 season due to a ruptured right patellar tendon.  This really hurts the depth at RB as the Cardinals dealt Tim Hightower to the Redskins just a couple of weeks ago.  The Cardinals will be depending on Beanie Wells to carry the load in the running game.  He is very injury prone, so LaRod Stephens-Howling could get his big chance to show what he can do in 2011.  At the very least, Stephens-Howling will be the Cardinals’ #2 back in 2011.  Williams’ injury was a huge blow to the Cardinals’ offense.

The Arizona Cardinals lose CB Michael Adams for a while

Blogged under Big Cards News,Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Injury Reports by admin on Sunday 7 August 2011 at 11:18 pm

The Cardinals have lost 26-year old CB Michael Adams indefinately after undergoing arthroscopic knee surgery earlier today.  He played in all 16 games for the Cardinals last year and he had 52 tackles, 3 tackles for a loss, 1 fumble recovery, 2 interceptions and 7 passes defensed.  Adams is a solid corner and the Cardinals hope that he returns soon because they are going to use him a lot in 2011.

The Arizona Cardinals sign Floyd Womack

Blogged under Big Cards News,Bloglockers,Free Agent Additions,Front Page,General,Injury Reports by admin on Monday 1 August 2011 at 4:21 pm

The Cardinals have signed 32-year old guard Floyd “Pork Chop” Womack.  Womack played in 16 games (15 starts) for the Browns last year.  He has now played in 119 games (71 starts) in his first 10 years in the NFL.  Womack could win a starting job at guard in training camp as he is still a pretty good football player.  This was a good signing for the Cardinals, who need to protect Kevin Kolb well.

UPDATE:  (9/3/2011) – The Cardinals have placed Floyd Womack on Injured Reserve due to a back injury.

The Arizona Cardinals place Max Hall on I.R.

Blogged under Big Cards News,Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Injury Reports by admin on Tuesday 7 December 2010 at 9:12 pm

The Cardinals have placed 25-year old, undrafted rookie QB Max Hall on the Injured Reserve List due to a dislocated left shoulder.  Hall played in 6 games for the Cardinals this year and he completed 39 of 78 passes (50%) for 370 yards with 1 TD pass and 6 interceptions (35.7 QB Rating).  He also carried the ball 1 time for -5 yards this year.  It will be interesting to see if the Cardinals bring back Hall for the 2011 season as he looked clearly overmatched at the NFL level.  The Cardinals have signed 27-year old QB Richard Bartel to replace Hall on the active roster.  He has yet to appear in a regular season game in his NFL career.

The Arizona Cardinals place Will Davis on I.R.

Blogged under Big Cards News,Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Injury Reports by admin on Monday 22 November 2010 at 9:21 pm

The Cardinals have placed 24-year old linebacker Will Davis on the Injured Reserve List with a fractured fibula, ending his season.  Davis played in 10 games for he Cardinals last season and he had 14 tackles, 1 sack and 1 tackle for a loss.  Davis has now played in 21 games in his first two years in the NFL and he has 33 tackles and 3 sacks.  This might hurt the Cardinals’ on special teams a bit, but Davis wasn’t playing much on D.

Blogged under Big Cards News,Bloglockers,Front Page,Injury Reports by admin on Wednesday 17 November 2010 at 6:56 pm

The Cardinals have placed starting RT Brandon Keith on Injured Reserve with a knee and hamstring injury ending his year.  The 25-year old Keith played in 9 games for the Cardinals this year (all starts).  He has played in 3 years for the Cardinals appearing in 13 games (9 starts).  30-year old Jeremy Bridges will replace Keith in the starting lineup at RT.  Bridges is more than capable of filling in for Keith.  He has played in 9 games (0 starts) for the Cardinals this year and he has played in 25 games (4 starts) in two years with the team.

Steve Breaston & Early Doucet are ready to return for the Arizona Cardinals

Blogged under Big Cards News,Bloglockers,Front Page,Injury Reports by admin on Saturday 16 October 2010 at 3:32 pm

WRs Steve Breaston & Early Doucet are ready to return for the Arizona Cardinals.  Rookie QB Max Hall will have the bye week to work on his timing with Breaston and Doucet who will be ready to get back to there old roles of being the #2 and #3 WRs for the Cardinals.  Breaston has played in 3 games for the Cardinals this year and he has caught 14 passes for 183 yards (13.1 avg) with 1 TD grab.  Breaston’s return should really help Larry Fitzgerald out as opposing teams have been doubling him almost every down.  Early Doucet played in only 1 game so far for the Cardinals this year and he has caught 2 passes for 37 yards (18.5 avg).  Rookies Stephen Williams (7 rec, 75 yards), Max Komar (5 rec, 57 yards) and Andre Roberts (2 rec, 27 yards) will all go back to the bench.

The Arizona Cardinals lose Steve Breaston for a while

Blogged under Big Cards News,Bloglockers,Front Page,Injury Reports by admin on Wednesday 29 September 2010 at 1:24 pm

The Cardinals will be without starting WR Steve Breaston until at least week #7 due to surgery to repair a torn meniscus in one of his knees.  Breaston has played in 3 games for the Cardinals so far this year and he has caught 14 passes for 183 yards (13.1 avg) with 1 TD grab.  The Cardinals will go with a pair of undrafted rookies as the #2 and #3 WRs until Breason is ready to return to action.  Stephen Williams out of Toledo will start opposite of Larry Fitzgerald starting this Sunday against the Chargers.  Williams has caught 3 passes for 37 yards (12.3 avg) so far this year for the Cardinals.  Max Komar out of Idaho will be the new #3 WR for the Cardinals.  He has caught 3 passes for 36 yards (12.0 avg) so far this year for the Cardinals.  The Cardinals are going to miss Breaston big time unless the kids step up.
