The Arizona Cardinals sign WR Chansi Stuckey

Blogged under Big Cards News,Bloglockers,Free Agent Additions,Front Page,General by admin on Saturday 30 July 2011 at 9:53 pm

The Cardinals have signed 27-year old WR Chansi Stuckey.  Stuckey played in 16 games (5 starts) for the Browns last year and he caught 40 passes for 346 yards (8.7 avg).  He also carried the ball 3 times for 9 yards (3.0 ypc) with a TD for the Browns last year.  Stuckey has now played in 46 games (10 starts) in his first three years in the NFL and he has caught 102 passes for 1,023 yards (10.0 avg) with 5 TD grabs.  He has also carried the ball 6 times for 16 yards (2.7 ypc) with 1 TD run in his NFL career.  Stuckey is a decent #4 or #5 WR so he could help the Cardinals this year.

The Arizona Cardinals sign DE/DT Nick Eason

Blogged under Big Cards News,Bloglockers,Free Agent Additions,Front Page,General by admin on Saturday 30 July 2011 at 3:10 pm

The Cardinals have signed 31-year old DE/DT Nick Eason to a 2-year deal.  Eason played in all 16 games for the Steelers last year and he had 16 tackles, 1.5 sacks and 1 pass defensed.  Eason has now played in 85 games in his first 7 years in the NFL and he has 108 tackles, 5 tackles for a loss, 5 sacks, 1 forced fumble and he defensed 4 passes.  Eason is familiar with the style of defense that the Cardinals run, so he should be a good fit for them

The Arizona Cardinals sign OG Daryn Colledge

Blogged under Big Cards News,Bloglockers,Free Agent Additions,Front Page,General by admin on Thursday 28 July 2011 at 9:10 pm

The Cardinals have signed 29-year old guard Daryn Colledge to an undisclosed contract.  Colledge played in 16 games (all starts) for the Packers last year.  He has played in 80 games (76 starts) in his first five years in the NFL.  Colledge is not only a very dependable player but he’s a really good one.  This was a great signing for the Cardinals as Colledge will help keep the QBs clean.

The Arizona Cardinals sign TE Jeff King

Blogged under Big Cards News,Bloglockers,Free Agent Additions,Front Page,General by admin on Wednesday 27 July 2011 at 3:06 am

The Cardinals have signed 28-year old TE Jeff King.  King played in all 16 games for the Panthers last year and he caught 19 passes for 121 yards (6.4 avg) with 2 TD grabs.  King has now played in 76 games in his first five years in the NFL and he has caught 112 passes for 923 yards (8.2 avg) with 9 TD grabs.  Jeff King is a better blocker in the running game than he is as a pass catcher.  I have a feeling that the Cardinals are going to run more in 2011, so King might really help the offense.

The Arizona Cardinals sign OLB Alex Hall

Blogged under Big Cards News,Bloglockers,Free Agent Additions,Front Page by admin on Tuesday 21 September 2010 at 4:32 pm

The Cardinals have signed 25-year old outside linebacker Alex Hall.  Hall played in 14 games (0 starts) for the Browns last season and he had 10 tackles.  He has now played in 30 games (2 starts) in 2 years in the NFL and he has made 38 tackles, he forced 2 fumbles and he has 3 sacks.  Hall has a nice upside as a pass rusher if he gets some P.T. for the Cardinals so I like this signing for them.

UPDATE:  (11/3/2010) – The Cardinals have released Alex Hall who never got on the field for them.  He was quickly claimed off waivers by the Giants.

The Arizona Cardinals sign Reagan Maui’a

Blogged under Big Cards News,Bloglockers,Free Agent Additions,Front Page by admin on Tuesday 14 September 2010 at 11:01 pm

The Cardinals have signed 26-year old fullback Reagan Maui’a.  He is a 6’0″, 260 pound bulldozer as a blocker in the running game.  He has played in 16 games (0 starts) in his NFL career and he has carried the ball 4 times for 5 yards (1.3 ypc).  He also has caught 2 passes for 5 yards (2.5 avg) in his NFL career.  The Cardinals have released Jerome Johnson after just one week on the team.

The Arizona Cardinals sign Aaron Rouse

Blogged under Big Cards News,Bloglockers,Free Agent Additions,Front Page by admin on Tuesday 3 August 2010 at 7:05 pm

The Cardinals have signed 26-year old safety Aaron Rouse.  Rouse played in 16 games for the Giants + Packers last season and he had 64 tackles, he defensed 4 passes and he had 1 sack.  Rouse has now played in 41 games in his three years in the NFL and he has 142 tackles, 11 passes defensed, 1 sack and 4 interceptions (173 return yards) with 1 TD.  Rouse is a physical run stuffing safety who once in a while makes a really game altering play against the passing game.  He should be a perfect hit with the physical defensive unit of the Cardinals.

The Arizona Cardinals sign fullback Charles Ali

Blogged under Bloglockers,Free Agent Additions,Front Page by admin on Friday 7 May 2010 at 5:32 pm

The Cardinals have signed 25-year old fullback Charles Ali.  Ali is a big guy at 6’2″, 255 pounds and he will help out as a run blocker and a special teams player if he makes the team.  Ali didn’t play at all last season in the NFL.  He played in 15 games for the Browns in 2008 and he didn’t get to carry the ball.  He caught 4 passes for 13 yards (3.3 avg) and he made 2 tackles in 2008 for the Browns.  I wouldn’t get too excited about the Cardinals signing Ali but he could help them in a couple of areas in 2010.

The Arizona Cardinals sign CB/KR Justin Miller

Blogged under Big Cards News,Bloglockers,Free Agent Additions,Front Page by admin on Monday 3 May 2010 at 6:40 pm

The Cardinals have signed 26-year old CB/KR Justin Miller to a 1-year deal.  Miller returned 11 kickoffs for 221 yards (20.1 avg) last season for the Raiders and the Jets.  He has now played in 44 games in his NFL career in which he has 99 tackles, 8 passes defensed and he has 1 forced fumble.  Miller has also returned 152 kickoffs for 3,966 yards (26.1 avg) with 5 TD returns.  The Cardinals signed Miller for his return ability as he is a gamebreaker and he can also provide depth in the secondary.  I like this signing for the Cardinals.

The Arizona Cardinals sign OG Alan Faneca

Blogged under Big Cards News,Bloglockers,Free Agent Additions,Front Page by admin on Wednesday 28 April 2010 at 4:49 pm

The Cardinals have signed 33-year old OG Alan Faneca to a 1-year, $2.5 million dollar deal.  Faneca played in 16 games (all starts) for the Jets last season and he made the Pro Bowl.  He has played in 190 games (185 starts) in his NFL career and six Pro Bowls.  The pipeline from Pittsburgh to Arizona keeps bringing talent to the Cardinals.  Look for Faneca to be a perfect fit for the Cardinals who want to run the ball and be more physical this season offensively.
