The Arizona Cardinals sign Aaron Rouse

The Cardinals have signed 26-year old safety Aaron Rouse.  Rouse played in 16 games for the Giants + Packers last season and he had 64 tackles, he defensed 4 passes and he had 1 sack.  Rouse has now played in 41 games in his three years in the NFL and he has 142 tackles, 11 passes defensed, 1 sack and 4 interceptions (173 return yards) with 1 TD.  Rouse is a physical run stuffing safety who once in a while makes a really game altering play against the passing game.  He should be a perfect hit with the physical defensive unit of the Cardinals.

The Arizona Cardinals sign fullback Charles Ali

The Cardinals have signed 25-year old fullback Charles Ali.  Ali is a big guy at 6′2″, 255 pounds and he will help out as a run blocker and a special teams player if he makes the team.  Ali didn’t play at all last season in the NFL.  He played in 15 games for the Browns in 2008 and he didn’t get to carry the ball.  He caught 4 passes for 13 yards (3.3 avg) and he made 2 tackles in 2008 for the Browns.  I wouldn’t get too excited about the Cardinals signing Ali but he could help them in a couple of areas in 2010.

The Arizona Cardinals sign CB/KR Justin Miller

The Cardinals have signed 26-year old CB/KR Justin Miller to a 1-year deal.  Miller returned 11 kickoffs for 221 yards (20.1 avg) last season for the Raiders and the Jets.  He has now played in 44 games in his NFL career in which he has 99 tackles, 8 passes defensed and he has 1 forced fumble.  Miller has also returned 152 kickoffs for 3,966 yards (26.1 avg) with 5 TD returns.  The Cardinals signed Miller for his return ability as he is a gamebreaker and he can also provide depth in the secondary.  I like this signing for the Cardinals.

The Arizona Cardinals sign OG Alan Faneca

The Cardinals have signed 33-year old OG Alan Faneca to a 1-year, $2.5 million dollar deal.  Faneca played in 16 games (all starts) for the Jets last season and he made the Pro Bowl.  He has played in 190 games (185 starts) in his NFL career and six Pro Bowls.  The pipeline from Pittsburgh to Arizona keeps bringing talent to the Cardinals.  Look for Faneca to be a perfect fit for the Cardinals who want to run the ball and be more physical this season offensively.

The Arizona Cardinals sign kicker Jay Feely

The Cardinals have signed 33-year old kicker Jay Feely.  Feely played in all 16 games for the Jets last season and he connected on 30 of 36 field goals (83.3%) and all 32 of his extra point attempts good for 122 points.  He has now played in 143 games in his NFL career in which he has made 231 of 283 (81.6%) field goal attempts and 320 of 322 extra points good for 1,013 points.  Feely is a solid kicker and he signed for less than Neil Rackers wanted.
