2. (50) Calais Campbell, DE/OLB

There have been whispers that the Cardinals might try to convert Campbell into a outside linebacker but they should table that talk.  He is 6′7″, 280 pounds and he runs a 4.75 40 which is exceptional for a player his size.  He played in 37 games (25 starts) at Miami (Fla) and he made 169 tackles, had 38.5 tackles for a loss, had 19 sacks, broke up 14 passes, forced 6 fumbles and recovered 3 fumbles.  Campbell tends to be a little lazy sometimes and that might be why he dropped to late in the second round after grading out as a first round pick.  The coaches will have to be on his butt to help make Campbell reach his vast potential.  This was a good gamble for the Cardinals.

1. (16) Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, CB

The Arizona Cardinals drafted for need in the first round with the selection of Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie.  He will battle Roderick Hood in training camp for the starting left corner job.  He is 6′1″, 183 pounds so he’s a tad soft against the running game.  He also isn’t the fastest player in the NFL as he runs a 4.51 40.  Cromartie played in 44 games (all starts) at Tennessee State and he made 158 tackles, broke up 36 passes, had 10 interceptions and recovered 4 fumbles.  This was a very risky pick taking a soft player from such a small school.
