The Arizona Cardinals are pleased with the play of Kurt Warner and Tim Rattay

Kurt Warner has been the starting QB since Matt Leinart was injured and he has done a great job in leading the offense.  Warner has completed 158 of 254 passes (62.2%) for 2,009 yards with 13 TD passes and 8 interceptions (90.8 QB Rating) so far this season.  Warner has really proven his toughness this season as he has played the last few weeks with torn ligaments in his left elbow.  Because of that, Tim Rattay has played when the team gets into the Red Zone as Warner’s elbow really bothers him when he takes snaps.  Rattay has completed 15 of 27 passes (55.6%) for 164 yards with 3 TD passes and 3 interceptions (71.1 QB Rating) so far this season.  The Cardinals have really prospered in this arrangement at QB.

The Cardinals just couldn’t make the big play in OT as Neil Rackers missed a short field goal and Kurt Warner lost a fumble in the end zone to lose the game.  Still, Kurt Warner played a good game as he completed 34 of 48 passes for 484 yards with 2 TD passes and 2 interceptions.  Edgerrin James had a solid game of work with 17 carries for 78 yards (4.6 ypc) and he also caught 2 passes for 11 yards.  Marcel Shipp pitched in with 5 carries for 14 yards (2.8 ypc) with a TD.  Larry Fitzgerald was unstoppable in this game as he caught 9 passes for 156 yards (17.3 avg) with 2 TD grabs.  Bryant Johnson (4 rec, 80 yards), Sean Morey (4 rec, 79 yards) and Anquan Boldin (6 rec, 76 yards) all had solid games.  The Cardinals finished up with 96 yards rushing on 24 carries (4.0 ypc) and they also completed 35 of 49 passes for 456 yards.

The defense was led by Gerald Hayes (12 tackles, sack) and Karlos Dansby (7 tackles, sack).  The 49ers finished up wth 137 yards rushing on 25 carries (5.5 ypc) and they also completed 25 of 39 passes for 237 yards.

The Cardinals gave up a lot of yards against the Bengals but they made the game changing plays on defense.  CB Eric Green led the Cardinals with 11 tackles and linebacker Karlos Dansby also had a solid game with 8 tackles and a sack.  But the main man on defense for the Cardinals was CB Antrel Rolle who intercepted 3 passes and scored 2 TDs, and he would have a had third if one of his teammates didn’t deck Carson Palmer after his last pick….which he also took to the house.  The Bengals finished up with 72 yards rushing on 20 carries (3.6 ypc) and they also completed 37 of 52 passes for 324 yards.

Kurt Warner was efficient for the Cards as he completed 16 of 28 passes for 211 yards with 2 TD passes and 0 interceptions.  Edgerrin James got some tough yards as he rushed for 52 yards on 22 carries (2.4 ypc) with a TD run.  Larry Fitzgerald (8 rec, 93 yards, TD) and Anquan Boldin (4 rec, 71 yards, TD) had solid games for the Cards.  The Cardinals finished this game with 50 yards rushing on 24 carries (2.1 ypc) and they also completed 16 of 28 passes for 197 yards.

The Cardinals turned up the defense in this game as they set an NFL record by holding the Lions to -18 yards rushing on Sunday.  Linebacker Calvin Pace had an outstanding game to lead the way for the Cardinals with 7 tackles, 1.5 sacks and a fumble recovery.  Karlos Dansby was also fantastic with 4 tackles and 2 interceptions.  The Lions finished up with -18 yards rushing on 8 carries (-2.3 ypc) and they also completed 32 of 45 passes for 263 yards.

Kurt Warner had a great game as he completed 26 of 36 passes for 259 yards with 3 TD passes and 1 interception.  Tim Rattay also played a little bit and he completed his only pass for a 2-yard TD.  Edgerrin James rushed for 60 yards on 18 carries (3.3 ypc) and he also caught 3 passes for 18 yards (6.0 avg).  Larry Fitzgerald had a good game with 8 grabs for 74 yards (9.3 avg) with 2 TD grabs.  TE Leonard Pope had the best game of his career with 5 catches for 52 yards (10.4 avg) with 2 TD grabs.  The Cardinals finished up with 73 yards rushing on 28 carries (2.6 ypc) and they also completed 27 of 37 passes for 246 yards.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers 17, Arizona Cardinals 10

The offense of the Cardinals did the team wrong as they only had possession of the football for a amazing 16:53 of this game.  Kurt Warner was simply awful as he completed 10 of 30 passes for 172 yards with 2 pickoffs.  Edgerrin James also had a rough game as he carried the ball 9 times for 15 yards (1.7 ypc) with a TD run.  Larry Fitzgerald (4 rec, 95 yards) and Anquan Boldin (3 rec, 40 yards) each had decent games.  The Cardinals finished up with 23 yards rushing on 12 carries (1.9 ypc) and they also completed 10 of 30 passes for 172 yards.

The Cardinals had 4 defenders with at least 10 tackles in this game and that’s pretty amazing.  Monty Beisel led the way for the Cards with 12 tackles.  Darnell Dockett also had an outstanding game with 10 tackles and 2 sacks.  Calvin Pace and Antrell Rolle each had 10 tackles in this game also.  The Bucs finished up with 162 yards rushing on 46 carries (3.5 ypc) and they also completed 18 of 28 passes for 188 yards.
