Current odds for the Cardinals

Blogged under Bloglockers, Front Page, If I Were a Betting Man by ravenhater on Tuesday 29 August 2006 at 3:25 pm

The current over/under for the Cardinals is 8 wins.  The Cardinals are currently 27-1 to win the Super Bowl, and 11-1 to win the NFC.

My suggestion is to take the over on the win total.  The Cardinals have a weak schedule and made a ton of upgrades to the roster.  My feeling is they will win at least 10, maybe more.

Cards look good in 23-16 win over Bears

Blogged under Bloglockers, Front Page by ravenhater on Saturday 26 August 2006 at 11:15 am

The Cards had to be real happy with their win over the Bears on Friday night.  The offense and defense both looked vastly improved against the Bears.  Kurt Warner looked sharp, completing 8 of 11 passes for 73 yards and a TD.  Matt Leinart looked even better, completing 15 of 21 passes for 144 yards and a TD.  Running back JJ Arrington also had a good game rushing 10 times for 44 yards.

The defense looked decent.  The run defense held the Bears to only 52 yards on 3.1 yards per carry.  The pass defense had a little tougher time as the Bears completed 65.7% of their passes for 235 net yards in the air.

Cards not looking too good in the pre-season

Blogged under Bloglockers, Front Page by ravenhater on Thursday 24 August 2006 at 10:25 am

The Cardinals offense, which was supposed to be the strength of the team has looked horrible so far in the pre-season.  The Cards are only averaging 56.0 yards per game rushing, and 2.5 yards per carry.  The passing attack is only averaging 133.0 yards per game and is completing 55.4% of it’s passes.

The defense is playing bad too.  The Cards are giving up 114.5 yards rushing per game on 3.7 yards per carry.  The pass defense has been wretched.  Opponents are averaging 251.5 yards per game, and are completing 67.6% of their passes!

Cards fail to show up for game Saturday and get punished 30-3

Blogged under Bloglockers, Front Page by ravenhater on Sunday 20 August 2006 at 10:49 pm

The Cardinals didn’t have any bright points Saturday.  The Cards had only 151 yards of total offense, while the Patriots rolled up 486 total yards.

Kurt Warner completed 6 of 9 passes for 58 yards, but he threw a pick.  Matt Leinart got his first NFL action and completed only 4 of 11 passes for 45 yards, he had a couple of nice scrambles (2) for 29 yards.  The leading receiver was Troy Walters who caught 4 passes for 28 yards.

It’s hard to win when you only have the ball for 17:44 on offense.  The Cards were lucky to score, as it was a pitiful game on offense, defense and special teams.  The Cards have alot to work on after they watch this game film.

Cardinals prevail over Steelers 21-13 on Saturday

Blogged under Bloglockers, Front Page by ravenhater on Sunday 13 August 2006 at 10:35 pm

The Cardinals looked good opening their new stadium on Saturday.  Kurt Warner completed 9 of 13 passes for 118 yards and 2 TDs against the vaunted Steeler defense.  Bryant Johnson also had a good game catching three passes for 42 yards and a TD.  The Cards held the Steelers to only 246 total yards, most of which came in the second half.
